When you capture and work into ProRes422 HQ, you are wasting space and computer resources unnecessarily. ProRes422 is a 10-bit codec, so is ProRes422 HQ.

If I remember correctly, you can get it as an option by installing the pro video codec pack that comes with Final Cut X - you can download it directly or install the trial which includes codecs.
